Mushroom hunting requires patience, timing, and a little luck. We carefully scout our locations before each tour and select areas based on current conditions to give you the best possible chance of finding seasonal fungi.
Because mushrooms are wild and their emergence depends on weather and environmental conditions, specific species or quantities can never be guaranteed.

Mushroom foraging takes place in natural environments and involves inherent risks, including uneven and off-trail terrain, slips, trips and falls, encounters with wildlife, exposure to allergens or toxic plants, and accidental ingestion of poisonous mushrooms.
Before participating in a fungi foray, all participants are required to read and sign our Disclaimer and Liability Waiver for Mushroom Classes in the State of California acknowledging these risks and accepting responsibility for their participation.
The complete agreement includes additional provisions regarding assumption of risk, release of liability, indemnification, emergency medical treatment, governing law, dispute resolution, parental consent for minors, and severability. goes here

Fungi forays take place outdoors and involve several miles of slow hiking, including uneven and off-trail terrain. Depending on conditions and location, you may encounter rocks, roots, fallen branches, slopes, loose or uneven ground, and other natural obstacles.
Participants should be physically capable of walking several miles over variable terrain and should come prepared for changing mountain weather and conditions.

If you are unable to attend your scheduled tour, please contact us as soon as possible. When circumstances allow, we may offer a later tour date.

Wild mushroom hunting is unpredictable. Mushroom emergence depends on weather, temperature, moisture, elevation, and other environmental conditions. We carefully scout our locations and select areas based on current conditions to give guests the best possible opportunity to find seasonal fungi, but specific mushroom species, quantities, or findings cannot be guaranteed.
Our guides will teach you about mushroom identification and the characteristics used to distinguish species. However, we do not guarantee the safety, edibility, or identification of any mushroom, and participants are responsible for making their own decisions about whether a mushroom is safe to consume.
Never consume a wild mushroom unless you are completely confident in its identification and safety.
